Every time I think about someone, whether they are near me by location, or close to me by relationship, I almost always would get to hear from them within 2 days! No joke!
True life story.
So if I have been thinking about an old school mate, for example, I could end up commenting on a post on SM and the next thing you know, they comment after me or send me an inbox or something! It kind of used to freak me out.
Then I received sense.
If my mind was willing those people to me somewhat, what if I consciously began to use my mind to will things, events and people to me in the right way? Spooky you say?
I started thinking recently on how I could improve in something I was working on, then boom! I was at the airport and guess who chose to sit beside me in the waiting lounge? Fela Durotoye! (Please google him if you don’t know him). And for the next one hour (with series of phone interruptions of course), he schooled me in the very area I needed help with, for free! I politely asked him if I could write as he spoke and he was more than happy to oblige me!
I have just discovered a great gift God has given me. It probably has been there all along, I just never used it as I should.
And you have it too.
How do I know? Cos the bible says “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he” – Proverbs 23:7
You think it with your mind, you will it to yourself, you have it and become it.
We hear it preached all the time, maybe just never this way
Philippians 4:8-9* has never hit me so hard!
The mind is too powerful
To leave and run idle
You can achieve things wonderful
Once you fill it with words from the Bible
Your thoughts can form your life
What you think, you attract
So fill up your heart with the words of life
And watch as you expand and not contract
*Philippians 4:8-9 (The Message Translation)
Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.
